In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to add an additional Game Templates into an existing project. I do this to all of my projects because I want to have the ability to prototype and playtest in either Third Person or First Person game mode.
First step is to have an existing project with either Third Person or First Person already created. At project creation screen choose one or the other as your base game template.
The reason you want to have already an existing Game Template included is due to key bindings. The Blueprint will already have specific keyboard keys attached to movement and mouse for looking. Adding additional templates will simply use the same key bindings within an existing project.
Once you have a project created and opened you can now add additional Game Template. In my case I have First Person so I want to add a Third Person game template into this project.
To include additional game template click on Add icon go to Add Feature or Content Pack:
Choose Blueprint and choose a Game Template to add then click Add to Project:
All the necessary folders will be added into the Content Browser.
This will work the same way if you have a Third Person and want to add First Person template.
To switch to a different Game Mode to play test open World Settings. If you don't see it then go to Windows and enable World Settings:
Under GameMode Override change to either:
You can now prototype and gameplay test from one either First Person or Third Person game modes.
