I will tell you how to download and install the latest version of UE5, including any older versions of UE in just 5 minutes.
Here is how...
Download the Epic Games Launcher from www.unrealengine.com/en-US/download
It's a small file that will give you access to the Epic Games Hub and all of its content. Including any new or old versions of Unreal Engine.
Run the Installer and install Epic Games Launcher.
Launch the installer and you will be asked to sign-up or create a free account with Epic Games:
Sign-up if you don't have an account then log-in.
You now have access to the Epic Games Launcher:
On the side switch to Unreal Engine section:
Then at the top, switch to Library tab:
Click on the + icon to add UE slot:
Then use the drop-down menu and choose which version of UE5 you want to download then click Install:
Choose install location. I keep this on the default C drive:
Options will allow you to add or remove few additional installation files such as Starter Content, Templates and Feature Packs, Engine Source as well as Target Platform code files. I would keep all of these at default for your very first UE5 installation.
Then choose Install and wait for UE5 to install onto your computer.
In order to launch Unreal Engine Editor, you have to create a project to work from that is associated with the installed version of UE5. See this tutorial on how to do just that.
